### Is this directory free?

Yes, searching is free and we never ask for your details, so there is nothing to sell. Every community can have a free listing. A paid Verified upgrade for communities is coming soon and will always be marked.

### What is a Verified listing?

A paid upgrade for communities that is coming soon. We will check the community’s state license and the community will confirm every detail, and the listing will show a Verified label. Payment will never change the facts, and we do not publish ratings.

### Where does the information come from?

State licensing records, the communities’ own websites, and updates sent by owners and staff. Each listing shows the date it was last checked.

### Does Medicaid pay for assisted living?

In many states Medicaid waiver programs pay for care services in assisted living, but not usually for room and board, and not every community takes part. Each listing says whether the community told us or its license shows it accepts Medicaid.
